Prajarajyam Promises New Schemes
The Praja Rajyam (PRP) released its manifesto for the GHMC polls promising to introduce a series of innovative welfare measures including setting up entrepreneur development centres in all the divisions, making usage of CNG mandatory in all public transportation vehicles, setting up Metropolitan Transport Authority and opening a 24/7 call centre on the lines of 108 sevices.
“We are very serious of implementing the new schemes,” said the spokesperson of PRP, Sravan Kumar explaining the manifesto at a press conference here on Saturday. The lack of seriousness reflected with PRP chief Chiranjeevi immediately leaving after releasing the manifesto.
All the senior leaders on the stage followed him.
Earlier, Mr. Chiranjeevi did not utter a single word on the new proposals but repeated the allegations he has been levelling against the government and the TDP during his city tour in the last two days.
Dr. Sravan said libraries in all the colonies would be revived with Internet facility for both students and senior citizens to use them effectively.
For the common man, there will be more public toilets across the city. Usage of solar lighting and making the city plastic-free also found prominent space in the manifesto.
The flagship programme, Dr. Sravan said, will be the creation of entrepreneurship development centres – titled ‘Swayamkrushi’ wherein educated youth would be given training on developing entrepreneur skills.
Similarly, the party will ensure that every division will have a good government school with best of facilities.
Dr. Sravan said the manifesto was drafted with ideas from senior IAS officers who worked in urban administration apart from inputs given by experts in the subjects. Common man’s needs and burning problems were taken into consideration.
