Is it possible to drink water from taps in Hyd?.No, but this is possible.NO leader is doing hunger strikes to release special budget to improve these condition. As someone pointed concentrating on local elections(from panchayat level) where the party is strong, and getting positive results will automatically strengthen and boost the cadre. I think rather than just fighting against the govt policies, emphasizing on what prp will do to take the state further will give a positive image to the party. Creation of more employment in the small towns(municipalities) and overall development of that towns ensures economic development in the rural areas around that town. For ex. there are around 13 municipal towns in guntur. If all the facilities for which they go to cities are provided in these towns, like superspeciality hospitals, courts, entertainment facilities, restaurants, educational institutions, clean and green environment, transport facilities, small scale industries, developing tourist places(not just temples).etc.,this would cater to the needs of the people in surrounding villages. This would lessen the pressure on the big cities. So the agenda should be to develop small towns in each and every district.

Everyone knows that the Praja Rajyam (PR) was formed to cash in on the image of megastar Chiranjeevi. It was launched about eight months before the elections, when the Congress government was very stable and reasonably popular and the Telugu Desam (TD) as an opposition party was well placed to take on the Congress.
Its relationship with the Left parties was improving and they had been taking out several joint agitations. It was also the time when Mr Devender Goud came out of the TD on the issue of Telangana. Subsequently, the TD took a stand in favour of a separate Telangana state to sustain the alliance with the Telangana Rastra Samiti (TRS).
It was in this context that the PR was born with certain new symbols and also with a social justice as its main agenda. Already civil societal organisations in Andhra Pradesh such as the Forum for Empowerment of Weaker Sections were campaigning on the theme of social justice and political parties were competing to increase the number of seats that they would allot to the OBCs in the 2009 Assembly elections.
The TD declared that it would allot 100 seats for OBCs out of 294, roughly 33 per cent. The Congress also passed a resolution in the Assembly recommending 33 per cent reservation in the legislative bodies. The PR made its social justice agenda more specific.
Chiranjeevi came from the Kapu community, which has a divided consciousness. Certain sub-castes of that community were in the backward class list. However, the sections of the community that live in certain districts like East and West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts are not in the OBCs list.
But they have been fighting for inclusion in the list. This predicament made the Kapu community think they are largely of the OBC category and when Chiranjeevi formed the party all those who were working for social justice supported its agenda.
Chiranjeevi and his colleagues might have thought that his megastar image and the social justice agenda would together help carve out a new electoral constituency. In fact, his pre-election rallies had shown that those were the social forces — the SC, ST and the OBCs — that were gathering in his rallies and attending his road shows. Lakhs attended his rallies and road shows. But why didn’t this response manifest as votes?
The election results have shown that the PR has got about 17.5 per cent votes and 18 seats. In about 31 constituencies its nominees were in the second place with a thin margin of difference with the victors. A Congress senior minister even won the election just with just 44 votes. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s assessment was that in the three-cornered contest the Congress would scrape through. And this is exactly what happened.
The moot question then is what was the role of the social justice slogan in this election? If the PR was not to own the agenda of social justice it would not have been a force even to reckon with in this election. Chiranjeevi’s film hero image would not have brought votes in a highly competitive electoral battle. His image was necessary to launch the party. But social justice was its life blood.
Not many have carefully analysed the main reasons of victory of the Congress across India. Apart from offering a good package of social security schemes including the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, subsidised rice and free power for farmers, it also worked on a strong minority justice agenda across the country. The BJP’s anti-minority activities drove them to the fold of the Congress. Both Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Dr Manmohan Singh were much suited to give assurance to minorities, because of their commitment and background.
Chiranjeevi tried to build a credible social justice plank but without any systematic plan and organisation. The PR leadership must remember that whatever votes they got were those of very committed supporters, who went to the polling booth on their own without anyone to drive them.
The Congress, TD, TRS and the Communist parties have well-organised party structures to mobilise people. But in this election, the Communists and the TRS failed more miserably than the PR. This is because the Communist parties refused to buy the social justice agenda in any form. They refused to recognise that aspect of discourse in the state and the country and they lost more miserably than anybody else.
The issue of social justice raised by the PR has come to stay. It has made a huge impact on the socio-political affairs of the state. Significantly, the BJP, TRS, CPI and the CPI(M) put together did not poll as many votes as the PR. The future success of the PR lies in owning up social justice agenda and expanding it.

you are wrong in one perspective. There was no political vaacum in 2009 elections.
But all the votes the party got were due to chiru charisma only.
In every constituency there are around 50000 fans which is surplus number to compete in
elenctions. But all those have been in different parties. Many of them did not vote for the party.
If chiru makes all of them feel confident about the party…It is more than enough for chiru…..
For example my brother is a chiru fan, only movies he watches in thetre is chiru’s. But he has been in congree. I asked him whether he voted for the party. He said no. He said the reason that chiru is not in congress(it is his personnel view). They are fans who still have got this attitude. Let us not forget nuetral people who voted for the party in a significant. It is ultimately chiru’s responsibility to retain all of them who voted and pull rest of the fans.
But I feel bad about his moves. People expect different from chiru. Every one expects different.
He should not do what a real politician does. I believe in “implemantations must speak, not words….”
Chiru should eqally balance the yatras and his work toward better society. he should redefine words
“politics”, “MLA”, “MP”. He should come up with all new set of rules what a MLA shoul do for the
constituency.
As shanshank pointed out the party might have gained some benifit by following “social justice”
But it will not retain for a longer period. He should drive people toward a better society. Let us hope
he will do that…….
