Prajarajyam Party Chief Dr. Chiranjeevi got down to business in the right earnest as the MLA of the temple city of Tirupati here on 17 June 2009.

On his second visit to Tirupati after his election, the PR president kept himself busy by visiting various offices and interacting with the heads of the departments concerned.

In course of his two-day visit, Chiranjeevi would use the occasion to identify the various problems and needs of the town and take them up with the officers concerned. The idea is also to strike an equation with all the top-rung officials of the core departments.

As part of the mission, Chiru after landing, dashed off to TTD’s Administration Building and interacted with the Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachary.

With other PRP leaders and cadres in toe, Chiranjeevi also met the Corporation Commissioner Mohan Reddy and discussed a wide range of issues.

From his side, the Commissioner is said to have promised all assistance to develop Tirupati as a model city.

Among the other places he visited was the office of the Vice-Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority, RDO’s office and the Backward Classes Girls Hostel where he not only shared food with them but also interacted with the boarders.

Chiranjeevi also visited Nehru Nagar, a predominantly workers colony reeling under water contamination and talked to the colony residents.

A delegation of local lawyers called on him and presented him a memorandum to use his good offices to get a High Court Bench for Tirupati, a long-pending demand. He hinted at nominating a retired IAS officer at Tirupati to liase with officials on his behalf in his absence and report to him. A small team of youth would coordinate party activities. Earlier, on his arrival at the airport, the Praja Rajyam president categorically ruled out his hitting the silver screen once again.

He said the party would be revamped in two months right from the mandal level.
