Travelling by road directly reached Gundla Gadda Thanda in Jedcherla Mandal of Mahaboobnagar district and visited each and every hut and spent nearly 2 hours with the villagers. He had an intimate talk with most of the sufferers. By 12.10 noon he reached Polepally village and had a heart felt speech with the crowd gathered. In his address to the sufferers he lamented that the Andhra Pradesh State Government is resorting to gross Violations of the fundamental rights of the poor and the less fortune people by grabbing their lands in the name of SEZs and encouraging false real estate business by the industries. He also said that the industries were given more than required lands which are not necessary.
The local police were unable to control the large crowd gathered and resorted to slight lathi charge.
While talking to the people he supported the industrial development, but not at the cost of poor peoples cultivable land. He said ‘If Prajarajyam is brought to power, only those land that are absolutely uncultivable will be given for the industries’ and the poor farmers issues we taken into consideration.
Of the total 256 SEZs in the country, the AP alone contributes to more than 50. This is heinous exploitation. In the name of SEZs, the state government is fostering real estate business and turned into a middleman. He demanded the government to come out with statistics as to how many industries were created in the state since 2003.”
