People in the limelight when asked to comment on their achievement usually say that they have done nothing great and have a long way to go. I would term it as their modesty if they are Gandhians and self deceit if they are hypocrites. If asked the same question I will emphatically and proudly say that I have achieved a lot while thanking all the people say that I have achieved a lot while thanking all the people who helped me to achieve this much. Today Chiranjeevi is the heart throb of millions of people. A dream boy to all the college girls, A heman who can make the impossible, possible with his will power and valour. For parents he is the ideal son,for children he is the ideal uncle, for the common man he is their representative. The oppressed worship him. While the oppressors fear him. The poor see a hero in him. While the oppressors fear him. The poor see a hero in him, politicians see a villian in him. He is the dawn of a new era for voters and a night mare for vote mongers of of Andhra Pradesh. Such is his Chairishma and so much is his popularity. After achieving this status would it not be deluding to say that I have not achieved anything.
This was my impression until I miraculously escaped from the jaws of death when the plane I was traveling in, crash landed near Tirupati. The realization that dawned upon me after that incident,was that all I claimed so far to have achieved, including my name,fame, stardom, wealth, popularity etc.,were so Alexander the great asking his Generals to keep his fists open while taking him to the graveyard,saying that then only the people would know that even Alexander the great, conquerer or the world did not take anything along with him, which struck me then, also contributed to my realisation. Then the urge to do something that would keep me alive eternally in the minds of people for a very long time even after my death began to intensify in me for I am reminded of the fact that so many super stars of yester years faded into oblivion today. Hence I began earnestly in my endeavours towards realisation of my new goal by sowing seeds like establishing a child welfare trust, providing free medical aid,homes for aged and orphans etc.,But then again I felt that with my little money and resources I might not be able to extend my helping hand to all the people of my country leave alone the entire world, which will not make it possible to realise my goal. I therefore started searching for some new ways and means to do something good enough which would secure me an etrnal place in the hearts of people and thus justify my name Chiranjeevi which means ‘The Eternal Man’.Looking for either God himself or in the form of a humanbeing to guide me in my endeavour and show me the path to reach my goal, I will continue to serve people in my own small way.
